from planes to beans

Hi, I’m David.

Let me tell you about my desire to deliver a better cup of coffee.

I’ve always been curious about the way things work. I went into the military right out of school, then worked as an engineer for years, designing the process to manufacture aircraft parts. I even went back to school and became a licensed chiropractor after discovering the miracle of a good adjustment! I was sipping my mediocre cup of big brand coffee one morning when I decided to check the date on the bag. I was startled to find that the beans had been roasted the previous year, sitting on a shelf for months before they reached my kitchen. Not only that, but I realized the taste was just not consistent from cup to cup! I decided I’d had enough— there had to be a better way. So I engineered myself a better, fresher cup of coffee.

I left my job, purchased a small-batch roaster, and began selling to family and friends. I didn’t want them to suffer from stale, bitter coffee any longer! Word picked up and I began selling commercially to local Michigan businesses.

Now I want to sell directly to you. I've spent years perfecting my roasts, selecting the best family farms, and making each batch to order to ensure you get the freshest cup of coffee possible. Try it and taste the difference!

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?

Large coffee roasters have many challenges that add to the time between roast and cup. Between inventory, sales, and supply chain challenges, it’s a long while before you receive the beans. Why does that matter? Well, the time between roast and cup has a quick and continuous effect on the flavor and aroma of your coffee.

Because we roast small batches as the orders come in, we are able to minimize time between roast and cup. Your beans are still fresh when they arrive at your door!
